th۱ cytokine production induced by lactobacillus acidophilus in balb/c mice bearing transplanted breast tumor

چکیده
results the results showed that oral administration of l. acidophilus as a potent immunostimulator agent could motivate the proliferation of immune cells. moreover, it could increase the production of ifn-γ and decrease the production of il-4, known as th2 cytokines, in the spleen cell culture. the results showed that the survival time of the l. acidophilus administered mice significantly increased in comparison to that of the control mice. conclusions the current study findings suggested that l. acidophilus can promote immune responses with th1 bias and may increase the antitumor response. further, the consumption of this probiotic strain may help to manage the immune response in tumor condition, but more studies are needed to investigate the other mechanisms of this effect. background the immunomodulative effects of lactic acid bacteria as probiotics have been already demonstrated. objectives the current study aimed to evaluate the effect of oral administration of lactobacillus acidophilus on the immune responses and patterns of cytokine production in the balb/c mice bearing breast cancer. materials and methods the current study used thirty inbred balb/c mice, six- to eight-week-old; they were divided into two groups of 15 each. one group was used as control in each assay. the l. acidophilus (atcc4356) used in the study was inoculated in mrs broth and cultivated overnight at 37°c under anaerobic conditions, then collected by centrifugation, and re-suspended in phosphate-buffered saline (pbs) media. after preparation of the proper amount of the suspension, it was orally administered to the mice via gavage and the control mice received an equal volume of pbs in the same manner.

متن کاملOral administration of Lactobacillus acidophilus induces IL-12 production in spleen cell culture of BALB/c mice bearing transplanted breast tumour.
Lactic acid bacteria can affect the maturation of immune cells and their products not only in the gut but also on the systemic immune organs such as lymph nodes and spleen. In the present work, we studied the effects of oral administration of Lactobacillus acidophilus on the immune responses of BALB/c mice bearing transplanted breast tumour. Two groups of female inbred BALB/c mice, each contain...
متن کاملEvaluation of Th1 and TH2 Cytokine Network in Aspergilus Infected Tumor Bearing Mice
Background & Objective: Invasive Aspergillosis is a fatal infection in immunocompromised patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the interaction of infectious with Aspergillus and tumor on immune response and cytokine network in Aspergillus infected tumor-bearing mice. Materials and Methods: Mice were implanted by sterile pieces of mouse mammary tumor and then infected by Aspergillus co...
متن کاملEFFECT OF FIVE ALPHA DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE (5α-DHT) ON CYTOKINE PRODUCTION BY PERITONEAL MACROPHAGES OF NZB/BALBc MICE
One of the mechanisms involved in the regulation of the immune system by steroid hormones could be the monocytic-macrophage system. In this study the effect of the male hormone 5a-DHT on cytokine release by peritoneal macrophages (mΦ) of male and female NZB/BALBc mice was investigated. Macrophages from male mice activated with LPS produced a greater amount of IL-1β (21.8%) (p<0.05) and IL-...
متن کاملlactobacillus casei ssp.casei induced th1 cytokine profile and natural killer cells activity in invasive ductal carcinoma bearing mice
lactic acid bacteria which are used as probiotics have ability to modulate immune responses and modify immune mechanisms. it has also been indicated that some strains of this family can affect the immune responses against solid tumors. in the present work, we proposed to study the effects of oral administration of l.cacesi ssp casei on the nk cells cytotoxicity and also production of cyt...
متن کاملEffect of conagenin in tumor bearing mice. Antitumor activity, generation of effector cells and cytokine production.
Antitumor effects and function of T cells in tumor bearing mice given conagenin (CNG), a low molecular immunomodulator, were investigated. The administration of CNG, once a week for 4 weeks, was the most effective schedule in inhibiting growth of IMC carcinoma, a syngeneic tumor. In this regimen, cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer activities in spleens of CNG treated mice were maintaine...
